Head of Quality and Compliance


The Association of Business Executives (ABE) is a globally recognised Education Services and Awarding organisation. Database Tester


ABE is a globally recognised Education Services organisation developing, assessing and awarding high quality and affordable qualifications to over 50,000 students and business professionals every year in hundreds of centres worldwide.

We are seeking to recruit an SQL / Solution Developer & Tester to be responsible for the technical configuration and customization of a new CRM, its solution development and testing throughout the life of the project. The role reports to the Project Manager and will work closely with external suppliers and key operational users to ensure best practice processes are implemented on time and within budget, providing a valuable contribution to transforming the business into a world class leader of products and services to learners and career professionals. The job holder will identify and communicate testing issues, implement process improvement and issue resolution, identify target test items to be evaluated by end user UAT and assist with training. They will provide support to the DBA with data cleansing for migration and assist in producing all required mail merge documents and SQL reports.

The role requires a high level of SQL/VB/VBA skills to assist with development of the CRM’s automation tool, general queries, automation and external data transformation. The job holder will work closely with the system provider on developing solutions to ensure BAU processes can be recommenced at Go-Live and assist with current BAU SQL requests. The ideal candidate will be of graduate calibre, ideally qualified in IT, HCI or SE and experienced in SQL query writing and reporting. The role requires high proficiency with MS Office and advanced skills in Excel VB/VBA and Word Mail-merge.

The job holder will need the ability to work under pressure and to prioritize the workload to meet deadlines and have a clear, logical, problem solving approach to challenges. They will be highly motivated, goal-orientated with a can do attitude, whilst being accurate and demonstrating excellent organisation and time management skills. Executive Assistant to CEO

The Executive Assistant (EA) reports to the CEO and works closely with members of the Executive Leadership Team, providing information management support to enhance their effectiveness.

The EA role is highly visible and varied, providing a comprehensive and confidential high level administrative role in support of ABE’s mission and vision. The job holder will also provide support to ABE’s Chair of the Board and Non-Executive Directors, supporting Governance meetings and procedures. The job requires a mix of skills and experience and initiative to respond to a range of queries and responsibilities in the absence of senior managers.

The role requires a motivated and flexible individual with exceptional multi-tasking ability and an eye for detail as the demands on the role will vary from time to time. The ideal candidate will be of graduate calibre and an experienced EA who is used to reading, researching, and routing correspondence; drafting letters and documents; managing a busy diary, organising international travel and analyzing information in order to save the CEO’s time. The role will suit an enthusiastic individual with a creative flair for coming up with new ideas and business improvements.

Marking Examiners


We welcome applications from suitably qualified UK-based professionals from the HE, FE or private sectors who are interested in becoming Marking Examiners for any of our programmes.

Applicants should:

  • Be educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Have good written and verbal communication skills
  • Be IT literate
  • Have appropriate subject knowledge

Teaching or training experience within the subject/unit area concerned and/or recent experience of marking within the UK examination system would be desirable but are not essential.

Marking Examiners may be required to mark up to 500 scripts twice a year, in June and December, within a set timeframe (approx. 4 weeks). A mark scheme is provided which Marking Examiners must adhere to, with support provided by the Subject Examiner where necessary. Successful applicants will be required to undergo training prior to their first marking session.

Remuneration is competitive with other Awarding Organisations.
