Programme structure


The Level 7 Diploma in Business Management is comprised of five units. As can be seen below, only Strategic Management and Planning is assessed by examination, which is externally marked by ABE. The other four units are each assessed by a written assignment of approximately 3,500 words, which is either marked once by a college and marked again by ABE, or simply marked once by ABE.

Please note: it can take up to two months between the receipt of a college marked assignment at ABE and the issue of a final result.

The Level 7 Diploma in Business Management does not have Study Manuals as students at Level 7 are expected to be capable of carrying out their own reading and research, which is the normal practice at Masters level


Assessment regulations


There is no limit as to how many times you can sit for an examination, nor is there a limit to the number of assignments that can be submitted at any one time or when they can be submitted. When either piece of assessed work is passed it will be carried forward to future sittings.

Should you fail an assignment unit, you are allowed to submit your reworked assignment to ABE at any time, provided you pay the appropriate assignment entry fee.

Examinations are conducted according to the ABE Examination Regulations (Conduct during Examinations), which are available from the Members Area. For more information about the regulations, please click here.

Should you fail the examination unit of the assessment you are permitted a re-sit at the next examination session by re-booking as normal and paying the appropriate examination entry fee.
